Here's some more of
my women's wisdom for the ladies who visit my blog:
Slice oranges, lemons or limes thinly and add some honey and hot water for
a sore throat tea that's full of antioxidants. Tastes nice too. It is also
terrific for singers to keep their throat in good shape for performing.
Home made recharge recipe:
1/2 gal H2O (hydration)
Juice from 2 lemons (restores proper blood sugars and adds antioxidants)
3 TBL of honey (restores proper blood sugars)
1 Qt of grape juice (natural electrolytes)
Adjust the taste to suit you by adding water or honey until it's just
right. Do not leave any ingredient out. Each is crucial to restoring you
if you get dehydrated or over heated.
Do not eat bananas during mosquito season. They do something to your
pheromones that make you smell more tastey to the little blood thirsty
critters. Eating garlic and lots of it will help repel them, though it's
not going to replace an insect repellant.
If your stomach is bothered by eating garlic, you could try taking garlic
suppliments which have a gel capsule that holds up until it gets to the
intestines.
Organic, non toxic flea dip:
1 Qt of water
4 TBSP Minced Garlic
1/2 C apple cider vinegar
Apply with a squirt bottle while the animal is outside away from your
house. Just a few quirts and you'd think it was raining fleas! Start with
the face and ears and the privates though, so that the little biters don't
make the animal nuts trying to crawl into a sensitive crevice that isn't
sprayed yet. Be careful of the eyes, this stuff will sting them badly. The
animal will not like the smell or taste, but the relief from the fleas
will feel like a good trade off and the next time you want to do it,
you'll get more cooperation than the first time the scent hits 'em. LOL!
Let it dry on while the animal is outside and yup, your house will now
stink like a restaraunt, but it will die down in a day or two. It's
summer. Open the windows. LOL!
Baking Soda is a natural deodarant. YOu can use it to clean up pet odors
in your house like this one I just suggested you make. Just sprinkle it
around and let it set over night. Vac it up. BS is also a great substitute
for cleansing scrubs like Comet if you are allergic to those. Cleans up
anything that Comet can without the irritants to the skin.
Mineral Vinegar
This is a homemade recipe that I got from a friend. I have yet to try it,
but I've had it myself and I'd say it was a terrific natural mineral
suppliment. You'll have to give it a try and decide for yourself.
Use a container that can be sealed and which can hold the veges and
vinegar both. Use two gallons of apple cider vinegar or another sort you
like. I don't recommend white vinegar. It's hard to consume comfortably.
Place mineral rich green leafy veges in the vinegar for about 3 weeks;
broccoli, spinach, etc. If you don't know which ones are mineral rich, go
look it up at the library. I recommend you start with oranic veges because
the pesticides used to grow them will also leach into the vinegar. Remove
the pickled veges and decide if you want to consume those. If not, dispose
of them. Just not in your compost. They will kill the bacteria that makes
compost. Strain the vinegar into sterilized bottles and store in a dark
place. Use the vinegar by the tablespoon full in dressings daily. My
friend's doctor found out she was taking this vinegar for her suppliment
and suggested she take 4 table spoons a day.
Apply grapeseed oil to any skin problem you have. It has many healing
properties. It is good for rashes and will clear acne too, believe it or
not. Good for after shaving and waxing too. Grapeseed oil can be purchased
in any grocery store. It makes the skin incredibly soft and smooth!
Feed your kids and animals grapes with seeds in them. The seeds have the
properties necessary to cause the gut to slough many sorts of intestinal
parasites. |
